Lawrence General Hospital now offers aquatic therapy services at the Andover/North Andover YMCA. Aquatic therapy consists of treatments and exercises performed in a pool setting for rehabilitation purposes. Often performed in warm water, aquatic therapy is a great option for patients who may not be able to tolerate exercise on land due to weight bearing restrictions, severe weakness, and/or increased pain.
Aquatic therapy can be beneficial for patients with a variety of diagnoses including, but not limited to:
- Back pain
- Total hip replacement
- Total knee replacement
