Nursing Professional  Development Specialists work together as a centralized team and are also  dedicated to inpatient areas. These nurse specialists are responsible for onboarding nurses and assisting with the ongoing development of nursing practice through education and simulation learning.

New Graduate Nurse Residency Program: Lawrence General  has a specific onboarding for new nurse graduates that recognizes their needs as novices nurses.

Preceptor Program: Expert nurses at Lawrence General are supported in working alongside new nursing staff to promote their successful acquisition of knowledge and skill.

Specialty Area Residency Program for nurses with experience who are transitioning to a new area of practice.

Educational programs to develop staff on specific nurse practice.

Development of academic partnerships that support baccalaureate through doctorate education.
